About the Challenge
Since its founding in 2019, our Hot Pepper Eating Challenge has been a local hit! We have hosted contestants for several years now to try their hands at eating some of the spiciest peppers a garden can grow, with incredible results. This event was an idea that was first created by our then-president Bob Wagner. Every year, Bob would work hard to organize, plan, and execute the entire event from start to finish, with unbridled glee, taking great joy in both the showmanship and in the fun that ensued for all.
In 2024, after over 10 years of serving our Market Community as President, and countless hours of passionate leadership, Bob passed away. His heart for our market, and his drive to serve our community will be remembered as we celebrate in 2026 the Bob Wagner Memorial Hot Pepper Eating Challenge. We ask you to join in on the fun September 19, 2026, as we remember Bob, and continue to uphold his annual tradition with excellence.
