Fans of super hot, taste-bud torturing hot peppers have the opportunity to test their capsaicin tolerance at the Nampa Farmers Market on Saturday, September 24. Registration is available online at Nampafarmersmarket.com Contestants will be lined up and given a succession of hot peppers starting with relatively mild peppers like the Jalapeno (3500-8000 Scoville Units) and Serrano (8000-23,000 Scoville Units) progressing to Habanero (200,000 – 350,000 Scoville Units), Ghost Pepper (1,000,000 Scoville Units) Carolina Reaper (2,000,000 Scoville Units) and even hotter.
